At PRAT & CIA. Abogados, we are happy to have closed an excellent year and would like to thank our team for their commitment and our clients for their trust. Here are some of our highlights from the year:
- We advised on important transactions, including leases and deliveries of more than 10 commercial aircraft.
- We also represented two new air cargo operators with operations between North America and Chile.
- We advised the airline with the most international destinations in its start of regular passenger and cargo operations to/from Chile. Through coordinated work with the client and its suppliers, we achieved its aviation certification in record time. We recognize the impeccable work carried out by the Civil Aviation Board and DGAC Chile.
- We continued to strengthen our position in the hotel industry, working with our clients on challenging new tourism development projects in the country.
- We attended the IATA Legal Symposium 2024 in Vancouver, organized by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
- After the team’s participation in the Santiago Marathon, motivation for sports continued throughout the year, with Martin Turner excelling in the Amsterdam 42K, Martín Fernández in the Athens 42K, and Francisco Prat in the Viña del Mar 21K.
Francisco Prat was part of the organizing team and a speaker at the V International Congress of Air and Space Law, organized by the Chilean Institute of Air and Space Law. - We celebrated the addition of Catalina Villalobos, attorney, and Piera Castro, paralegal, both from the Universidad de Chile. We also celebrated that our associate Martín Turner was admitted to the Advance LL.M. program at Universiteit Leiden, Netherlands.
We renewed our commitment to the global alliance of law firms, World Link for Law, and participated in their 2024 Annual Meeting in São Paulo. - Our partner Francisco Prat was invited to speak at the Aviation Law Americas Conference organized by ALTA – Latin American & Caribbean Air Transport Association in Buenos Aires, and at two panels of the XV International Congress organized by ALADA (Latin American Association of Aviation Law) at the XLVI Latin American Symposium of Aviation Law in Montevideo.
- We continued our commitment to Legal Volunteering by participating in activities with the Pro Bono Chile Foundation and signing a permanent advisory agreement with a foundation.
We participated in various activities organized by the Chilean-Mexican Integration Chamber A.G. as active members. - Our partner Francisco Prat was once again recognized by Best Lawyers in the areas of Hospitality and Tourism, and was highlighted by Lexology as a Global Elite Thought Leader in the Aviation Regulatory field, maintaining his position in all three areas of Aviation practice: litigation, regulatory, and financial.
